It is in 1975 that shaper Hiucif Rahim started off in Brazil.
To begin with he made boards for himself, his friends and a few
competitors.
During the 80's he began to find success when the surfers who used
his boards were getting good results with them.
During the 90's he changed his path and headed for other continents,
now that he had found his place among the best in Brazil. He travelled
to Hawaii, California and Europe in search of experience and certain
refinement for his shapes.
In doing this he gained a reputation of global proportion, obtaining
fatastic results with:
Jojo Olivença - twice champion of Brazil and among the top
44 for four years.
Joey Jankins - winner of WQS 4 stars of Brazil 1993.
Quilherme Herdy - winner of WQS anglet, France 1987.
Chris Davidson - winner of Buondi-pro, Portugal 1987.
Neridah Falconer - top 8 in the world: winner of championships
of Bells Beach 2001, Maui 2000 WCT and of Lacanau Pro 2000.
Many of the top 44 ar now starting to use Hiucif's boards and with
good results too. For example:
Munga Barry - has used his shapes for various seasons in Brazil
and Europe.
Jake Paterson, Shane Dorian, Fabio Gouveia, Paul Canning and Peterson
Rosa have used his shapes in specific competitions.
In Europa he has had outstanding results with 2 successive victories
of Eric Rebieri in San Sebastián (EPSA).
Didier Piter - European champion, 1999.
Lenny Perdomo - first Canarian to win an EPSA. (Lanzarote, 1999).
Many other European surfers use his boards in certain competitions,
such as Spencer Hargraves, Mikael Picon, Jonathan Gonzalez, Boris
Letexier.
Competitive surfers in Japan, Peru as well as other countries use
his boards alongside those in European and S. American countries.
Hiucif likes to work with Hand-Shapes but he also uses Pre-Shapes.
His philosophy:
There are no limits for the Shaper, as long as he always
keeps an open mind, ready to learn and exchange ideas.
